Special senses pracs and principal's collections

Hi,

It's the last day of term tomorrow so I'm just finishing off the last few lectures and tutorials now. We had a sound and auditory system practical today. I discovered that my sound localisation and frequency sensitivity are good, by listening to lots of noises through headphones in the CAL (computer assisted learning) lab. On Tuesday we had another special senses practical, this time on vision. We spent the morning going round several rooms and trying out clinical techniques for assessing vision. It was a really interesting practical and even better because there was no write-up involved.

We had Principal's Collections today. That's where we go and sit in front of the college principal, the senior tutor and one of our own tutors, and they tell us how we are getting on. It's quite scary but only lasts a couple of minutes and they generally say nice things. 'Collections' are different to Principal's Collections - they are the exams we have at the beginning of each term. They don't count towards anything important but allow us and our tutors to see how we're progressing. So that's what I'll be revising for over Christmas, as well as for the important exams at the end of next term.
